Implementation Plan: Mental Health and Addictions Working Group

Step 1

Engaging with providers of mental health and addictions services in South Parkdale. Complete.

• The Mental Health and Addictions Working Group has set up an operations group to engage with providers of mental health and addictions services in South Parkdale.

Step 2

Understanding the services provided in Mimico. Complete.

• The Mental Health and Addictions Working Group has undertaken a current state analysis of services being provided in the South Parkdale neighbourhood where we are implementing the test of change.

Step 3

Reviewing capacity. Current stage.

• We are in the process of reviewing capacity and developing a basket of services to ensure adults with moderate needs for mental health and addictions services receive the care they need in the community.

Step 4

Education and awareness of this population. Future stage.

• At this stage, we will deliver education and the Mental Health and Addictions Framework, which outlines the basket of services that are ideal based on the level of need in the framework and which organizations in the neighborhood provide those services.

Step 5

Evaluation of test of change. Future stage.

• We intend to implement an evaluation framework to understand the impact of this work on the targeted population’s access to services, their experience and providers’ experience. This stage will also provide us with gaps, lessons learned and an opportunity to implement a quality improvement approach to implement in future West Toronto neighbourhoods.
